Trains and coaches at Victoria
London Victoria is one of the busiest stations in the country. Southern trains run to Brighton, the Sussex coast and Surrey, Southeastern serves towns across Kent, and the Gatwick Express runs non-stop to Gatwick Airport. A few minutes' walk away is Victoria Coach Station, where National Express and other operators run coaches across the UK and into Europe. Coach passengers often have large cases, which is where a taxi helps.
How we get there from Raynes Park
Victoria is one of the closer central London stations to SW20. The usual route heads through Wandsworth or Clapham and crosses the Thames by Chelsea Bridge or Vauxhall Bridge. Traffic around Victoria itself is often heavy, especially near Buckingham Palace Road and Vauxhall Bridge Road, so we allow time for the last mile.
Some routes into central London cross the Congestion Charge zone. Ask us when you book how any charge is handled for your journey.
Victoria or straight to Gatwick?
If you are flying from Gatwick, taking a taxi to Victoria and then the Gatwick Express means travelling north to go south. From Raynes Park, a car straight to the airport is usually quicker and simpler, and you only have to handle your luggage once. See our Gatwick transfers for more detail.
Drop-off and pickup
For drop-offs we will take you as close to your station or coach entrance as the roads allow. Tell us if you are going to the rail station or the coach station, because they are separate buildings. For pickups, give us your train or coach and its arrival time, and we will agree a meeting point. Coaches in particular can arrive late after long journeys, so call us if yours is delayed and we will adjust.
Staying in central London?
Victoria is surrounded by hotels, and many visitors arrive by train or coach and then need a ride to their accommodation. Our hotel transfer taxi can collect you from Victoria and take you to your hotel, or bring you from Raynes Park to a hotel near the station the night before an early start.
Brighton, Kent and the South East
Victoria is the main station for journeys to the south coast and Kent, and trains to Brighton, Eastbourne and the Kent coast get busy on sunny weekends. If you are heading off for a day out or a short break with bags, a taxi to Victoria gets you there without the change at Clapham Junction that a train from Raynes Park would usually need. On the way back, tell us your arrival time and we will meet you at an agreed point outside the station.
If you are travelling by coach overnight, for example from Scotland or the north of England, early morning arrivals at Victoria are common. We run 24 hours a day, so we can meet you whatever time your coach gets in.
Other stations
If you're heading into the South East from a different terminus, see Charing Cross and Waterloo. We collect from Southfields, Colliers Wood and across the local area.
