Northern line or a taxi?
Colliers Wood has a Northern line station, which is great for getting into central London. For an airport, though, the Tube is rarely the easiest choice. Reaching Heathrow means crossing London and changing lines, and Gatwick needs a train from Victoria or London Bridge. With suitcases, children or an early flight, a car from your door is much simpler, and a fixed fare means you know the cost upfront.
Routes from Colliers Wood
For Gatwick, drivers usually head south on the A24 through Morden and on towards the M25 and M23. For Heathrow, the route goes west through Wimbledon or Merton towards Kingston. Traffic on Colliers Wood High Street and around the retail parks can be slow on weekends, so we take that into account when we set your pickup time.
Where we pick up
We collect from all over Colliers Wood, including the streets near the station and the High Street, the roads around Wandle Park, and the area close to Merton Abbey Mills and the riverside. If you live in one of the newer apartment buildings with limited parking, we can wait at the main entrance.
Longer airport journeys
We also take customers to the airports north of London. Stansted and Luton are long journeys, but a car from Colliers Wood avoids crossing London on the Tube with bags. We will suggest a pickup time based on your flight and the expected traffic.
Trains as well as planes

Weekend traffic around the retail parks
Colliers Wood has some of the busiest shopping traffic in the area, with large stores on both sides of the High Street and around the Tandem Centre. On Saturday afternoons and in the run-up to Christmas, the A24 through Colliers Wood can be very slow. If your flight falls at one of those times, we will build extra time into your pickup, and your driver may use side roads to reach you if the main road is blocked.
