Trains from Paddington
Paddington is the London terminus of Great Western Railway, with trains to Reading, Oxford, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Swansea, and down through Devon to Cornwall. It is also a stop on the Elizabeth line and the London end of the Heathrow Express. That makes it a useful station for holidays in the West Country as well as work trips along the M4 corridor.
The drive from Raynes Park
Paddington sits in west London, north of Hyde Park, so the route is shorter than the trip to King's Cross or Euston. Drivers usually head north through Wandsworth and Putney or Fulham, then up through Kensington towards Praed Street. Traffic around Earl's Court and Kensington can be slow during the day, and your driver will choose the route based on live conditions.
Some routes into central London cross the Congestion Charge zone. Ask us when you book how any charge is handled for your journey.
Holidays in the West Country
Summer trains to Devon and Cornwall are busy, and people often travel with bodyboards, walking gear or a dog. If you are bringing a pet, our pet friendly taxi makes the ride to the station easier. Please tell us what you are bringing when you book so we send a car with enough space. Families can book an estate or our 6 seater taxi.
Paddington or the airport?
Some customers ask whether they should take a taxi to Paddington and then the Heathrow Express, or go straight to the airport by car. From Raynes Park, the direct drive to Heathrow is usually quicker and simpler, because Paddington is in the opposite direction. Our Heathrow transfers page explains more.
Arriving at Paddington
For pickups, give us your train and its arrival time. We will agree a meeting point outside the station and your driver will be there when you arrive. If your train is late, call us and we will change the time. We run 24 hours a day, so a late arrival from Cornwall is no problem.
Travelling with the Elizabeth line
Some customers use a taxi to Paddington and then join the Elizabeth line to reach the City, Canary Wharf or east London, particularly with luggage, because Paddington's Elizabeth line platforms are step-free. If that fits your plans, we can drop you at the station entrance closest to the Elizabeth line. For most other journeys into central London, though, we can simply drive you to your final destination, which avoids a change altogether.
If you are meeting someone off a train at Paddington rather than travelling yourself, give us their name, train and mobile number. We will contact them when the train arrives and bring them to you, which is a simple way to welcome visitors from the West Country or Wales.
Other journeys
We also run to Euston, Waterloo and the other London terminals. We collect from Southfields, Copse Hill, Raynes Park and all the areas on our areas we cover page.
