What runs from King's Cross
King's Cross is the London end of the East Coast Main Line. LNER trains leave for York, Newcastle and Edinburgh, and Grand Central, Hull Trains and Lumo run services to other northern towns and cities. Great Northern trains also head out to Cambridge and Hertfordshire. Right next door, across Pancras Road, is St Pancras International for Eurostar trains to Paris and Brussels, so we take plenty of travellers there too.
The journey from Raynes Park
King's Cross is on the far side of central London from SW20, so this is one of our longer station runs. Drivers usually travel north through Wandsworth, cross the Thames and then work their way up through the West End towards the Euston Road. The exact route depends on traffic, roadworks and events, and your driver will pick the quickest option on the day.
Some routes into central London cross the Congestion Charge zone. Ask us when you book how any charge is handled for your journey.
Because the journey can vary, we recommend leaving plenty of time, especially if you have a reserved seat on a long-distance train with an advance ticket that can't be changed. For a Eurostar departure, allow extra time for security and passport checks at St Pancras.
Pickups from King's Cross
Coming home after a trip north? Tell us your train and its arrival time, and we will arrange to meet you at an agreed point outside the station. The area around King's Cross and St Pancras is busy and has changed a lot in recent years, so we confirm the meeting point with you before the day. If your train is running late, give us a call and we will adjust.
Luggage and group travel
Long-distance rail trips often mean bigger bags, and a family heading to Edinburgh for a week will have plenty. A saloon or estate suits most couples, while groups can book our 6 seater taxi or 7 seater taxi to keep everyone together.
Planning around advance tickets
Long-distance tickets from King's Cross are often cheapest when booked in advance for a specific train, and those tickets can't usually be used on a later service if you miss yours. That makes timing important. We suggest aiming to arrive at least 20 to 30 minutes before departure, and more at busy times such as Friday evenings and the start of school holidays, when the concourse gets crowded. If you are catching a Eurostar from St Pancras, check the latest check-in guidance from Eurostar and leave extra time for security and passport control.
Other stations and airports
If your train leaves from the West Coast line, see our Euston Station taxi, which is just along the road. For flights from north-east of London, our Stansted transfers cover the M11 route. We collect from across the area, including Colliers Wood, Southfields and South Wimbledon.
