Room for the whole group
Once a group grows beyond six, the usual choice is two cars, with the extra cost and the problem of arriving at different times. A 7 seater or 8 seater avoids that. Everyone travels together, the luggage goes in one place, and you only have one booking to manage. It suits extended families, groups of friends, work teams and anyone with more luggage than a 6 seater can handle.
7 seater or 8 seater?
Both are larger vehicles with three rows of seats. The 7 seater takes up to seven passengers, and the 8 seater takes up to eight. If your group is smaller but you have a lot of luggage, a 7 seater with some seats free gives you extra room for cases. Tell us the number of passengers and bags when you book and we will send the right one. For groups of five or six with standard luggage, our 6 seater taxi may be enough.
How much luggage fits?
With every seat taken, there is typically space for five or six large suitcases plus hand luggage. With fewer passengers, there is more. Ski bags, golf clubs, bikes in bags and large prams take up more room, so please mention them. If a group has too much luggage for one vehicle, we will tell you before the day and suggest an option.
Group airport transfers
Groups flying together are the most common reason for booking a 7 seater. A car at your door, one fixed fare and all the cases in one place is much easier than meeting at the airport. We run large groups to Heathrow, Gatwick and London City, and we track your flight so the car is waiting when you land. For long-haul trips, one shared vehicle can also work out better value per person than several smaller cars.
Events, weddings and nights out
A 7 or 8 seater is a practical way to get a group to a wedding, a birthday dinner, a sports event or a concert, and home again afterwards. For wedding guests staying away from home, our hotel transfer taxi can combine pickups from a hotel. Book the return journey at the same time so you are not left waiting at the end of the night.
Planning a group booking
For group trips, it helps to choose one person as the main contact. Give us their name and mobile number, and tell us where everyone is being collected from. If the group is starting from more than one address, we can plan a route that picks everyone up in a sensible order, and we will agree the pickup times with the main contact before the day.
